The Rev. David Hedges, Rector

The Rev. David Hedges

As Rector of Saint Peter’s, Father Dave offers spiritual and liturgical leadership and serves as chief organizer of the ministries of all our members.

Born in Modesto, California and raised in Berkeley, Dave came to Illinois in 2002 to enter seminary under the sponsorship of the Diocese of California.  In 2005 he graduated and was ordained at Saint James Cathedral in Chicago. His first call to pastoral ministry was assisting at Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church in Crystal Lake.  In 2007 he came to Sycamore to serve at Saint Peter’s and since 2009 has been our Rector.

In addition to his work at Saint Peter’s, he serves on the Board of Directors of Grace Place Lutheran/Episcopal Campus Ministry at Northern Illinois University, as a Trustee of the Diocese of Chicago, and on the Diocesan Council.

Dave is married to Carly Flagg and is the proud father of a daughter, Zoe.  He enjoys photography, bowling, and lengthy road trips.
